THE PROBLEM

GP Structural Investigations was engaged to carry out a full Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) concrete scan across three levels of the structure.

Our approach included:

  • High-resolution GPR scanning of floor slabs, beams, and columns to detect rebar, post-tension cables, and voids.

  • Integration of Electromagnetic Detection (EM) to map live electrical conduits and plumbing.

  • Digital mark-ups and a full 3D model overlay, allowing the client and engineers to plan core drilling and structural upgrades with confidence.

  • Delivery of compliance-ready reports within 48 hours, tailored for engineering and council approval.

THE SOLUTION

Thanks to the detailed subsurface mapping, Hamilton Property Group was able to proceed with coring and reinforcement installation without a single strike to embedded services. The investigation also revealed an unrecorded concrete void beneath the mezzanine slab, which was flagged and resolved before structural works began—preventing a potentially costly delay.

“GP Structural Investigations helped us de-risk a very sensitive site. Their team was professional, thorough, and fast. The GPR scan gave us clarity that saved us from costly surprises—and their reporting made sign-off with the engineers easy. We’ll definitely use them again.”
